BMW 530d N57 F10 – Shell Helix ULTRA ECT C3 – Oil change

It has been 1 year and 7000 miles since the last oil change. 1 year and 7000 miles of BMW ownership.

Long service intervals vs shorter intervals? 

This is where I might overspend, overservice and overthink it, but because of :

• the type of driving that I do
• the mileage of the car
• the Crankcase Dilution Phenomenon

You will see me changing the oil every year or 6000 miles. 

On a personal note, I can say that I see a difference in the density/structure of the oil from the first oil change when the CBS (condition based servicing) plan was used (2 years ~15.k miles) vs this one done at 7.k mls.
